For Comus Productions founder, Nick Bedu, camerawork and direction are something of a family trait. Inspired by his Rio-based cameraman uncle, Brian Sewell (who's credits include The Blue Planet, The Flight of the Condor and much more), he relocated to South Africa to work for a ratings winning chat show before returning to work in the UK in 1999.

He thus cut his teeth as a researcher for chat shows, music shows and documentaries. Having recently celebrated ten years in television, he is now a producer / director / cameraman and has worked for the following companies either on a contract or freelance basis:

Sky, MTV, LWT, ITV, C4, Princess Productions, London TV, Enteraction TV, The Box and more.

He has worked with / shot interviews with luminaries as diverse as:

Tom Hanks, Tiger Woods, Bill Cosby, Beyonce, David Blaine, Pink, Kelis, Harmony Korine, Colin Murray, Edith Bowman, Sean Paul, Morcheeba, Heather Graham, Ant and Dec, The Chemical Brothers and many more...

In 2005 Nick created Comus Productions, merging his broadcast quality television experience and standards with a passion for visually arresting media for the media and corporate worlds.

Away from it all, Nick's passions lie in film (silent), music (the recorder), sport (synchronised swimming), travelling (1st fully paid up passenger for Virgin space flights) and country breaks. Please ignore all text in brackets!

Our no.1 Comus Creative, Karl Wood, began his media career by graduating with a 2.1 in Software Systems for the Arts and Media from the University of Hertfordshire, by developing an e-learning DVD prototype.

Karl had previously worked within games design for Virtual Studios (now Codemasters) and within architecture, @ Foster and Partners, where he developed strong administration and photographic skills, becoming the Slide Librarian for Lord Norman Foster.

Now, Karl has blossomed as a Graphic Designer and Creative, and has contributed to work @ Claessens International, the branding and packaging specialist for the alcohol industry.

Continuing his chasing of media whirlwinds, Karl arrived @ Borkowski PR,  Mark Borkowski's infamous PR Firm, who deploy major PR campaigns for many national brands. Karl worked on various accounts, including Hovis, Vodafone, Norwich Union, Tiscali, Thorntons, and many more, producing events, books, showreels, press kits, advertising, and a range of materials for print and web.

Most recently, Karl has been working as a Creative, within a dedicated photographic studio and marketing department for Aurora, one of the largest lighting manufacturers in Europe.  He here led a 2 year re-branding operation, involving brochures, the new website front-end and a new corporate showreel, in association with Comus Productions.

Comus Productions have now found ourselves the lucky beneficiary of his many talents, from technical ability, to management, vision, interpretation & enthusiasm.

Karl is a very confident communicator and has developed a considerable skill-set, ideal for producing finished ideas within New Media, from concept to final delivery. His skills include Photoshop, Illustrator, Motion, In-Design, HTML, Flash & more.

His work ethic is second to none, but he is keen to emphasise the 'play' ethic too, as intrinsic to a growing media revolution.

The above aside, Karl has a keen interest in music, (founding and conceptualising a  new record label) & sports (he's a season ticket holder @ a Premier League Club). When his brain's not ticking overtime as usual, he sometimes finds the chance to grab the odd breath. It's good to breathe.
